EIT Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) is the EU’s largest public-private partnership addressing climate change through innovation. Our community consists of over 300 leading partners from business, academia, the public sector and NGOs. Our purpose is to help create a prosperous, inclusive, climate resilient society founded on a circular, zero-carbon economy. Focused on levers of systemic change, looking for where innovation is most needed to accelerate deep decarbonisation (elimination of fossil fuels and negative carbon) and effective adaptation.
Join the EIT Climate-KIC community, together with British economist Mariana Mazzucato, European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Dennis Pamlin of Mission Innovation, Sandrine Dixson-Declѐve, Anders Wijkman and many more for “Mission Finance”, this year’s EIT Climate-KIC Climate Innovation Summit in Dublin, from 6-8 November 2018.
‘Mission Finance’ is the theme of the summit this year, with a focus on driving the mission-critical systems innovations that will catalyse investment needed to combat climate change. Topics include climate risk, moving beyond disclosure, adaptation, infrastructure finance, energy efficiency and landscapes financing, among many others. There will also be a start-up competition and “Shark Tank” session with a panel of climate finance investors.
The summit will bring together over 600 participants from all over the world for an engaging three-day programme. You can expect interactive pitching and networking sessions, a solutions showcase, masterclasses, a plenary game and much more. New partnerships with the EU’s Mission Innovation programme and the UN’s Financial Centres for Sustainability network will be announced.
Climate Innovation Summit is the only event in Europe creating the connections and conversations for systemic solutions and transformative climate action. Throughout the three-day event we will be exploring the pioneering solutions and partnerships that are driving sustainable finance and putting Europe on track to deliver a climate-resilient future. Climate change is a $26 trillion business opportunity. Find out more at www.climateinnovationsummit.org.
