(3BL Media/Justmeans) – The Paris Climate Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals have provided a clear roadmap for a just and sustainable world. These profound developments are causing positive business disruption, and compelling companies to closely evaluate changing consumer expectations, investor demands, and competitor behavior.
To address this moment of global change, BSR has announced its 25th anniversary conference “How Business Leads.” The BSR Conference is one of the most important annual gatherings involving nearly 1,000 sustainable business experts from Fortune 500 companies, as well as leading foundations, nonprofit organizations, and government.
BSR Conference 2017, which will take place from October 24 to 26 in Huntington Beach, California, will set the stage for three days of vital conversation, collaboration, and action. Registration for BSR17 is now open, and best rates are available through June 30.
The conference will present compelling examples of how the private sector is leading by setting ambitious goals; using sustainability to innovate; collaborating for systemic solutions; and using its voice to advocate for public-policy frameworks that enable greater progress on climate, inclusive economy, and other crucial topics.
How Business Leads will have 30 breakout sessions that will dive deep into today’s most important issues. In recognition of BSR’s anniversary, it will have “Fast Forward 25” sessions to look at the future of sustainable business, with vibrant conversations on topics such as generating quality livelihoods in the era of automation and the ethics of artificial intelligence.
The plenary sessions are the most talked-about parts of the BSR conferences. The plenary lineup of speakers to date includes Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund, who will highlight her work leading a movement to build a healthier and safer world for women and teens. Google Foundation President Jaquelline Fuller, Mercy Corps CEO Neal Keny-Guyer, and TripAdvisor CEO Stephen Kaufer will engage in a candid discussion about the business response to the refugee crisis.
