Marco Vangelisti worked in finance for 20 years and in the investment management industry for the last 6. A founding member of Slow Money, Marco serves on the leadership team of the Slow Money Northern California network. He is a 100% impact investor and shares his experience with direct Slow Money investment in order to help communities increase their capacity for local investing. Marco developed Essential Knowledge for Transition – a curriculum designed to give engaged citizens an understanding of the money and banking system, the economic system and the financial system and how we need to transform them. He speaks nationally as a guest lecturer and author.
Brian Kaminer is the founder of Talgra and creator of Invest With Values. Talgra consults with people and organizations looking to align their money and values through sustainable, community and impact investments. Invest With Values is an educational website for investors learning to create positive change with their money and investments. His work has been featured in SUCCESS Magazine and Forbes.com Brian’s background includes 17 years in the brokerage business. He serves on the boards of Slow Money NYC & Slow Medicine Foundation, and is an adviser to Gross National Happiness USA.
Amy Cortese is an award-winning journalist, author and speaker whose whose recent work centers on the intersection of crowdfinance and community. Her articles have appeared in the New York Times, Business Week, Conscious Company and B magazine, among other publications. Her book, Locavesting, was one of the pioneering works on the local investing and community capital movement. Building on the book’s momentum, she founded Locavesting.com, a media and educational site covering the evolving field. Most recently, she cofounded investibule.co, an aggregation platform that makes it easy for investors to discover community-based investments.
