About Us

Invest with Values is a free educational resource that connects the dots between related investment areas including local banking, community investing, impact investing, and socially responsible investing. We do so with our curated directory of over 300 organizations and resources that share the common thread of using money and investing to create positive change. The site includes a news center that features top articles on the related topics.

The directory was first released in July of 2012 as a PDF document by our parent company, Talgra. In May of 2013, a dedicated website was created and launched as The Money and Impact Investing Directory (ImpactInvestingDirectory.com): a more interactive version of the directory that maximized its visibility. The current site was launched in December of 2014, when we rebranded to “Invest with Values”, added a sample directory for our beginners, search capabilities to the full directory, and a public discussion forum.

The website and directory have been featured in: Green Money Journal, Forbes.com and SUCCESS Magazine.

The directory organizes topics, resources and organizations focused on:

Aligning money and values
Impact Investing and related fields of interest
Creating positive social and environmental impacts through money, investing, and business

There are a growing number of terms to describe and connect the resources, including impact investing, responsible business / investing, social finance, and slow money to name a few. Each has its place in creating a new economy based on more long term values that include knowing where our money goes.

To seize the opportunity and grow the positive change we need collaboration, field-building participants, open source sharing, mutual respect and continuous learning to name a few attributes. Additionally, we are grateful to a variety of people and organizations that are generous with their time and continue to help shape our own growing understanding.

The directory is an evolving document. We welcome your input, please share your thoughts and questions with us.

Creator and Editor

Brian Kaminer created Invest with Values based on his growing understanding of the relationship between money, values and sustainability. He promotes it to foster learning and engagement for other people interested in aligning money and values.

Brian’s company, Talgra, was founded in 2007 after realizing a need and opportunity for a different approach in how we invest and create value. From its inception he focused on investment opportunities that are socially responsible and which contribute to our community and environment. Brian focuses his personal and professional life on positively aligning the social, environmental and economic impacts of his choices and actions. Slow Money has been one of the key organizations inspiring him to think, relate and invest differently. Based on that, Brian volunteers his time in a leadership role with Slow Money NYC. Brian has a growing portfolio of community and impact investments.
